Barquette

Type: Double-disc grinding

Use: Watch blanks, bridges, dials

In 2011, the Industry and Technology Centre Schaffhausen approached us to develop a solution for barquettes that remain flat even after heavy one-sided machining. The goal: reduce scrap and eliminate expensive rework. That was the beginning of our barquette production for the watch industry. Today, we supply some of the most renowned manufacturers and continuously work to meet the highest standards.

Discs

Type: Double-disc grinding

Use: Dials, case backs, decorative rings

Discs for the watch industry require the highest flatness and defined thickness tolerances. On our Peter Wolters machines, we grind material from various alloys – from brass to nickel silver to stainless steel and titanium. The stress-relieved structure guarantees dimensional stability even during demanding further processing. Every batch is documented, with material certificate on request.

Planchets

Type: Double-disc grinding

Use: Movements, calibre parts, functional carriers

Planchets form the backbone of every watch movement. The requirements for flatness, parallelism and bore accuracy are correspondingly high. Our double-disc grinding process guarantees thickness tolerances to 0.005 mm and bore tolerances to 0.003 mm. The thermally stress-relieved material prevents distortion – even with heavy one-sided machining by the customer.
